49% of сitizens strongly support Serbian Membership to the EU

If the referendum were to be held tomorrow with question "Do you support Serbian membership in the EU?", 49% of the Serbian citizens would be in favor, 27% would be against, 13% would not vote, and 11% would not know what to answer. These are the results of the last public opinion poll called "European Orientation of Serbian Citizens" which was conducted by Ministry of European Integration in June 2017. The poll was carried out in compliance with the Eurobarometer standard, and 1,064 respondents older than 18 took part in it.

On 26 June 2017, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Ministries, establishing the Ministry of European Integration. The Ministry started operating on the date when this law entered into force, on 27 June 2017, when the European Integration Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia ceased to exist.

The kick off meeting of the projects “Construction of the Building for Emergency Services in Novi Pazar Health Centre“ and “Finishing of the Construction of a New Block within Vranje Hospital” was organized  on 22nd June 2017 in the premises of the Ministry of Finance (CFCU). This meeting formally represents the beginning of two projects of great importance, funded from EU IPA funds with national cofinancing of total value of more than 4 million euros.

"The Maltese Presidency of the European Union has proven to be very successful for the European path of Serbia," said Jadranka Joksimović, Minister responsible for European Integration, at today's opening of the exhibition of photographs "Applied Nostalgia: Belgrade - Valletta" in the gallery of the National Bank of Serbia. 

CHAPTERS 7 AND 29 OPENED

Decision on the opening of Negotiation Chapters 7 and 29 has been adopted today at the Sixth Intergovernmental Conference in Luxembourg. Serbia’s Negotiating Positions for Chapter 7 - Intellectual Property Law, and Chapter 29 - Customs Union were presented at the conference. The Delegation of Serbia was headed by Jadranka Joksimović, Minister responsible for European integration, while Helena Dalli, Maltese Minister of European affairs, represented the EU Council, and Christian Danielsson, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, attended on behalf of the European Commission.
