Memorandum of Cooperation between the Serbian European Integration Office and the Chamber of Commerce was promoted in the Chamber of Commerce, Belgrade, on 7 July 2004. Memorandum was signed by Radmila Milivojevic, Secretary General of the Serbian European Integration Office (the Office) and Milos Radivojcevic, Vice-President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber).
Memorandum of Cooperation presents a framework for cooperation and future participation of the Chamber as a legitimate representative of the economic community in the European integration process. Bearing in mind the significance of the European integration process for our economy and specific requests that the process will have for entrepreneurs, as well as the existing capacities of the Chamber (e.g. Bureau for Cooperation with the EU), the signatories of the Memorandum have recognised the importance of their mutual cooperation, regular information exchange and creation of wider consensus regarding the European integration process as a priority in Serbia, as well as active involvement of the economy in the overall process.
Signing the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce was initiated by the Serbian European Integration Office, the expert Government body responsible for coordination of the European integration process.
The Office and the Chamber will work together on monitoring the approximation of national legislation with the EU regulations and standards, improvement of institutional capacities in Serbia in accordance with the requests laid out in the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, organising training for civil servants and management needed for the European integration process, keeping national enterprises informed about demands of the internal EU market etc. All this will be done through jointly organised conferences, regular information exchange and various promotional activities. |
