Negotiations for conclusion of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the European Union were officially opened on 10 October 2005.

Having in mind that the Stabilisation and Association Agreement includes political, economic and trade relations between the parties and cooperation in implementing a number of concrete policies, it was necessary to establish a negotiation team comprising representatives of public administration bodies in charge of relevant negotiation topics.

At the session of 7 June 2007, Serbian Government elected a new Serbian Government negotiation team for negotiating the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the European Union. The Team members were:

Bozidar Djelic, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of Negotiation Team and Chief Negotiator
Tanja Miscevic, Director of European Integration Office, Secretary of Negotiation Team and Coordinator of special negotiation teams
Milica Delevic-Djilas, Assistant Foreign Minister
Zora Simovic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Services
Danilo Golubovic State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management
Janko Guzijan, State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance
Bojana Todorovic, Ministry of Economy and Regional Development
Gordana Lazarevic, Ministry of Finance
Vesna Knezevic-Predic, at the proposal of the Prime Minister.
